We’ve identified the need for a temporary Senior Analyst position (working title Unit Production Manager) reporting to the Senior Director – Sports.Responsible for the production & financial management of features & branded content produced for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics. Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and overseeing all production logistics. Collaborates with National and International Organizing Sports Committees to ensure efficient content production.In this role they will work directly with the CBC Sports Executive Producers and Unit Production Managers for each CBC Sports component.Key Tasks:Creates production plans and budgets for features in collaboration with the production teams (CBC and Radio-Canada), sales and marketing team and program area senior management.Controls and authorises program expenditures. Evaluates financial status on a continuous basis. Analyses budget variances and recommends a course of action to maintain budget integrity.Determines which suppliers and personnel best meet production requirements. Determines level of spending for each production component according to overall budgetary restrictions.Coordinates and oversees all aspects of pre-production, post production and production including all remote location and logistics.Negotiates for the acquisition of goods and services for the production for both internal and external sources.Coordinates staff and delegates responsibility, in conjunction with the Producers, to ensure the smooth operation of the program unit. Hires freelancers as required. Counsels production unit, performers, crew and staff. Contributes to the cohesiveness of crew.In consultation with senior production personnel, hires freelance personnel who are best suited to production and its budgetary parameters.Decides accountability of staff personnel recommended for assignment to the program, in conjunction with the Producers.Coordinates crew travel. Interprets and applies talent and labour agreements, CBC policies and CBC/industry business practices. Initiates and liaises with Business Affairs department for the preparation of contracts.Administers contracts to ensure adherence to agreed terms. Ensures compliance with sound business practice on a per case basisDecides how to achieve optimum deployment of personnel and services. Daily operational decisions required for production and unit.Prepares financial reports of the Olympic Features & Branded Content file at month-end, quarter-end and year-end including commitments report and accrual calculations.Decides allocation of expenditures within an Olympic feature.Analyses program budget proposals for productions and recommends alternatives.This position is one of constant change and multiple priorities while juggling many productions and details. This is a unique position within a production unit and requires the ability to work without supervision.We are looking for a candidate with the following:University degree in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience.A thorough understanding of the production planning process, production needs and workflow.At least five years’ experience of which three must involve work in features production or a closely related industry, which is directly related to the area of assignment.The ability to interpret labour and talent agreements, CBC Policies, Business Practices and CBC Corporate Structure.A high degree of facility with Financial Systems (general ledger, resource planning, scheduling and tracking tools).The ability to provide financial information in a manner that meets the needs of production and of senior managementStrong computer skills are important, particularly the Google suite of products and a high degree of efficiency with Microsoft Excel.A creative and solution driven approach to keep the production on schedule and on budgetMust be highly articulate and be able to listen, empathise, support and challenge others. Interaction with others is a daily requirement.Advise management on the intricacies of production for the purposes of corporation progress and change.Must be able to maintain concentration, accuracy and control of the production which requires an individual who can exercise good judgement, initiatives, problem solving skills and decision making capabilities.Bilingualism (French) is an asset.Excellent negotiating, communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, along with proven judgement and tact.Open to new ideas and approaches.Extremely motivated self-starter.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime and weekends as required.
