Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and passionate Social Media Copywriter to join our large retail client on a 6+ month contract, with the potential for an extension. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by crafting engaging, on-brand content that resonates with our audience and drives customer engagement.The Social Media Copywriter will be responsible for creating compelling, on-brand copy tailored for each social platform, enhancing our brand visibility and engaging our target audience. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the latest social media trends, understand platform-specific best practices, and be able to produce high-quality, engaging content that reflects our brand voice and supports our overall marketing goals.Key Responsibilities:
- Write concise, engaging, and on-brand copy for Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, considering each platform’s unique tone, audience, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the social media and creative teams to brainstorm, develop, and refine creative concepts for various campaigns and initiatives across platforms.
- Stay updated on the latest social media trends, cultural moments, and viral content to inform copywriting strategies that resonate with our target demographic.
- Ensure all content maintains a consistent voice and tone aligned with brand guidelines, while adapting to the specific style of each platform.
- Create content designed to encourage interaction, engagement, and sharing. Tailor messages to foster positive connections with our followers and potential customers.
- Collaborate with the social media analytics team to track content performance, and adjust copy and content strategies based on engagement metrics and data insights.
- Assist with writing for larger campaigns, social advertisements, and cross-channel initiatives to maximize reach and consistency across digital platforms.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in social media copywriting, preferably for a large brand or retailer.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, with experience writing content that performs well on these channels.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft concise, compelling copy that captures attention and drives engagement.
- Ability to think creatively and adapt the brand voice across various platforms while aligning with specific platform nuances and trends.
- Basic understanding of social media metrics and how to use data insights to refine content and improve engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, including designers, videographers, and marketing specialists.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in retail or e-commerce industry
- Basic knowledge of social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with digital advertising formats and best practices for paid social campaigns
