This role is responsible for coordinating all shift activities, providing mentorship, and directly supervising the execution of daily operations to ensure alignment with the facility’s overall strategy. The position ensures that operations are conducted in compliance with the plant operating license, technical specifications, procedures, and company requirements, while maintaining strict oversight of safety protocols within the Upgrader.Interested in working in Lloydminster?Work Environment:This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the areaThis is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation comprised of a 12-hour shift rotating between days/nights including working weekends/stat holidays (i.e. 2 days/2 nights on, 5 days off; 2 days/3 nights on, 4 off; 3 days/2 nights on, 5 off)What you’ll do:Provide overall direction and support for Operations personnel to achieve operational objectives including overseeing daily activities and schedulingProvide input and coordination of plant optimization efforts, plant start-ups/shutdowns, process recovery, and activation of the ERT (Emergency response team) as requiredChampion Health, Safety and Environmental compliance management to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Lloydminster UpgraderEnsure daily orders, maintenance schedule, and short-term plans (STP) are completedHandle work order approval process and maintain paper and electronic logsCollaborate with cross functional teams including Maintenance, Turnaround, Operations, Engineering etc.Coach and mentor Operations personnel including Operator training and development plansWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in Canada3rd Class Power Engineering certificate, with a 2nd Class Power Engineering certification being considered an asset8-12 years of experience in oil and gas operations, with experience in a Refinery/Upgrading facility being an assetExperience with safety management systems, practices, regulations, and standardsLeadership skills – experience with mentoring, guiding, and developing personnelOutstanding interpersonal, communication, organization, and facilitation skillsStrong troubleshooting and decision-making abilitiesWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.
