Through efficient and environmentally sustainable operation, we offer grounds, custodial, building operations, facilities planning, security services and engineering professional services to provide a physical environment that supports and enhances our academic space for students and staff. Our staff respond to daily service requests and emergency/priority situations as needed.About the RoleThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of complex infrastructure renewal projects that ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency across Mount Royal University’s campus. Managing budgets between $500K–$10M, including high-profile projects like the G-Wing renovation, the Senior Project Manager oversees all project phases from initiation to close-out. while minimizing disruption to campus operations. This position is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.ResponsibilitiesOversee end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.Collaborate with senior leaders, faculty, contractors, and vendors to provide regular updates and ensure alignment with University goals.Track project finances, address variances, and proactively mitigate risks specific to construction and campus needs.Develop and evaluate RFPs, monitor vendor performance, and certify invoices.Align project timelines with academic schedules, identify synergies, and resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain campus continuity.Provide guidance to project managers and coordinate multidisciplinary working groups.Monitoring environmental safety, addressing site-specific challenges, and ensuring compliance with University standards, building codes, and safety regulations.QualificationsA degree in engineering, architecture, business, or related disciplines. Equivalent experience combined with certifications will also be considered.PMP certification (or a commitment to obtain) is preferred; additional certifications like Certified Facility Manager are assets.5–8 years of progressive project management experience, ideally with large, complex facility projects.Expertise in construction procedures, safety codes, and interpreting technical drawings.Proven ability to deliver high-budget projects while managing tight schedules and addressing unexpected challenges.Strong leadership and interpersonal communication, with a track record of building collaborative relationships.Advanced financial forecasting, budget tracking, and variance management.Proactive risk mitigation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.Experience with hazardous material management and working in an automated work control environment.What We OfferTalented and committed employees are the driving force behind student success.
