This role is pivotal in driving the development and enhancement of our payment solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our customers and align with our strategic goals.This is a full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the payments product strategy, ensuring alignment with the institution’s overall objectives.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of payment products, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, compliance, and marketing, to deliver seamless payment solutions.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes to inform product development and ensure compliance.
- Utilize data and customer insights to drive product enhancements and innovation.
- Develop business cases and obtain leadership/executive buy-in for new initiatives.
- Manage and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure payment solutions are developed within budget and timelines, addressing any issues that arise during the development process.
A typical day would involve:
- Leading strategy sessions to define and refine the payments product roadmap.
- Coordinating with technology teams to prioritize and execute development tasks.
- Analyzing customer feedback and transaction data to identify areas for improvement.
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product initiatives.
- Conducting market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitive offerings.
- Reviewing and approving product documentation, including business cases and project plans.
- Providing guidance and support to team members, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
You are:

You have:
- 7-10 years of experience in product management, with a focus on payments.
- Deep understanding of the Canadian payments landscape, including e-Transfer, payments modernization, real-time rail, and open banking etc.
- Strong understanding of the fintech space and payments capabilities, including creative solutions to navigate Canadian market limitations.
- Expertise in digital money movement, including e-commerce payment solutions and legacy pre-paid credit card and credit card debit programs.
- Proven track record of leading product development from concept to launch.
- Strong understanding of payment systems, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
