Job Title: Senior Buyer

Location: Port Colborne, ON

Job Description: A growing food preservatives company is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join their teamJob Responsibilities:

• Monitor natural gas, corn, and chemical markets.
• Hedging gas and corn in co-ordination with corporate Manager of Purchasing.
• Ensuring competitive pricing and adequate inventory on site for chemicals, packaging, auxiliary materials.
• Responsible for the complete purchasing cycle, from entering the requisition, generating Purchase Order and scheduling delivery.
• Perform monthly inventory for chemicals, packaging, auxiliary materials.
• Perform Vendor audits.
• Negotiate freight tenders.
• Negotiate and coordinate sale of biproducts.
• Create miscellaneous Purchase orders for internal customers
• Assist with procurement tasks such as expediting, sourcing, inventory management etc.
• Implement cost saving initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of Post Secondary
• Purchasing Certificate
• 5+ years’ in manufacturing environment
• 5+ years negotiating agreements.
• 5+ years commodity sourcing.
• SAP experience an asset.

Salary: $70,000 to $75,000/year, based on experienceSchedule: Monday to Friday, days. There is flexibility to whichever shift suits the successful candidate.
