Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Business System Analyst for a 12-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta, with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.This is a 100% remote role.Job Description
The Senior Business System Analyst will play a key role in diagnosing, supporting and enhancing enterprise applications within the organization. In this position, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and the IT team to gather business requirements, investigate and implement potential solutions, and oversee configuration, testing and change implementation efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particular Ellucian Colleague, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address business needs.Position Responsibilities

• Investigate configuration changes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Analyst and troubleshoot application issues, ensure data accuracy and provide insights for business operations
• Coordinate and perform testing for system upgrades and patches to ensure timely implementation
• Utilize reporting tools effectively to meet business needs
• Recommend and promote the best practices, standards and policies for maintaining high-quality enterprise applications
• Develop and maintain documentation for application processes, workflows and configuration changes
• Conduct data analysis to identify, test and correct application data issues or prepare data for implementation
• Support the implementation of robust application-level security aligned with governance policies
• Provide input and collaborate on new technology capability to improve enterprise-wide efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Engineering or a relevant field
• Extensive hands-on experience with Ellucian Colleague or a similar ERP system is required
• At least 3-5 years of experience in application support, ERP systems or business analysis
• Experience with database schemas, preferably Ellucian, and knowledge of SQL programming would be an asset
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to manage complex data sets
• Knowledge of project management principles and process improvement methodologies
• Proven ability to lead or contribute to cross-departmental projects involving system implementation or enhancement
