Job Description: Job DescriptionSEMCO – Operations Technician ISEMCO Energy is seeking an Operations Technician I for our Macomb-based Operations team! Under supervision, the Operations Technician I supports SEMCO’s Operations Department with a variety of field and office duties within the assigned geographic area.You Will:Conduct site visits for new or proposed natural gas services.Prepare new service investigation forms with estimated service length and sketch.Coordinate with customers, homeowners, builders, municipalities, and businesses regarding service routes and construction requirements.Communicate with pipeline contractors and internal stakeholders regarding any installation needs.Update the construction database as needed.Participate in an on-call rotation for Miss Dig staking.Assist in other Operational Areas (i.e. “Miss-Dig”, Leak Survey, and Inspection), as required.Maintain excellent knowledge of current trends and developments in the field, in addition to SEMCO’s policies and operations standards.You Have:Minimum high school diploma or GED requiredExcellent knowledge of basic mechanical & electrical principles.Strong analytical and organizational skills, in addition to written and oral communication skills.Excellent customer service orientation with the ability to represent SEMCO professionally in the community.Satisfactory working knowledge of various computer business software applications presently used by SEMCO. Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.Ability to maintain and promote a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers, and management.Ability to maintain and promote a safe environment for co-workers, customers, and the public through adherence to SEMCO’s safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.Ability to understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures related to SEMCO’s Code of Business Ethics, Compliance, Responsible Use, and all applicable state and federal laws.In addition to our competitive benefits package, the estimated base hourly rate for this role will range from $24.28/hour to $34.13/hour, based on experience.About AltaGasAltaGas is a North American energy infrastructure company focused on owning and operating assets that provide clean and affordable energy to our customers.
