Job Description: Job DescriptionPlease submit your resume directly to Kevin Pedersen via email at .The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Purchasing Manager for their Construction and Developments division in their Regina location. This is a mid-level role and this manager will lead the development and execution of assigned commodity sourcing requirements for construction operations across North America, oversee leveraged agreements, build strong relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers, and implement strategic sourcing plans.Key Account Responsibilities and Functions
- Review, monitor, and support all construction tenders.
- Lead and establish unit pricing for civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, flooring, finishing, and general carpentry items.
- Establish major construction material contracts for items such as signage, boilers, panels, lighting, lighting controls, building controls, and others.
- Develop and execute a utility strategy for gas, water, and electricity across North American properties.
- Review and manage facility service contracts, including landscaping, janitorial, and network services.
- Analyze spend portfolios and determine procurement strategies based on expenditure, strategic importance, and value delivery opportunities.
- Act as the subject matter expert on supply markets for assigned areas and advice on current and future market trends.
- Identify, implement, and manage supplier relationships to align with business requirements.
- Master the contracting process, including negotiation, contract preparation, and administration.
- Deliver robust supplier contracts that meet business goals, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and asset protection.
- Collaborate with strategic suppliers and internal teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities, standardize goods and services, adopt new supplier technologies, and address performance or pricing issues.
- Track and deliver measurable financial benefits.
- Train and develop direct reports, ensuring effective team management and professional growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in Procurement or Supply Chain.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Professional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Project Management are a plus.
- Knowledge of strategic, transactional, and international procurement practices.
- Competency in managing legal documents and basic commercial law.
- Strong customer focus and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and risk management.
- Expertise in contract development and supplier relationship management.
- Effective implementation and change management abilities.
