Job Description: Job Description:We are offering a 3-month contract opportunity (potential to go permanent) for a Jr. Project Accountant in the Engineering industry, based in North Vancouver, British Columbia. This hybrid role involves a high level of collaboration with project managers, handling client invoicing (70% of role), and conducting project analysis.Responsibilities:

• Handle client invoicing for approximately 60 projects, with the potential to delve into more detailed projects as progress is made.

• Work closely with project managers, providing updates and following up on client matters.

• Perform reconciliations and address any discrepancies identified in project returns.

• Keep track of accounts receivable, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Engage in project analysis, utilizing Excel for data handling and report generation.

• Potentially progress into a Project Controller role, dealing with more complex and detailed projects.

• Ensure the smooth operation of Deltek software for project accounting purposes.

• Handle all project accounting tasks, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately.

• Provide feedback to sub-consultants, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Project Accountant.
• Proficiency in using Deltek software for managing project accounting tasks.
• Strong skills in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating financial reports and performing data analysis.
• Prior experience in the Engineering industry would be highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of Project Accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
