Job Description: Job Title: Power Systems EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Studies Engineer for substation projects and other associated high-voltage (HV) electrical projects. The role involves substation design support, power systems studies using ETAP or SKM, ARC Flash Analysis, Load Flow, and Lighting studies. The ideal candidate will also have experience with grounding studies.Responsibilities

• Provide substation design support when necessary
• Conduct power systems studies using ETAP or SKM
• Perform ARC Flash Analysis
• Execute Load Flow and Lighting studies
• Conduct grounding studies
• Write detailed reports and presentations on study findings
• Review equipment drawings, conduct design reviews, and witness factory acceptance testing
• Ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code and relevant CSA, ANSI/IEEE standards
• Perform studies including Ground analysis, AC interference, Power factor, Harmonic analysis, Arc flash, Short circuit load flow, Transient voltage, Lighting analysis, and Lightning analysis

Essential Skills

• Electrical Engineering Degree
• 6+ years of experience as an electrical engineer
• 4 years of experience in conducting studies
• P.Eng certification (ability to stamp)
• Proficiency in ETAP or SKM for power systems studies
• Experience leading design studies (short circuit studies, grounding studies)
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and relevant CSA, ANSI/IEEE standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with grounding studies using additional software
• Familiarity with CYME and PSCAD software

Work EnvironmentThis position will work out of Canmore. The work environment will eventually require presence in Canmore 2-3 days a week, starting with 2 days a week. The office is known for its attractive location and is a good fit for candidates from Calgary or Vancouver.
