We’re on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.About the roleAs ATB’s next Portfolio Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in collaborating with the Associate Directors / Sales Directors in Business Banking and the Portfolio Loan Support team. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient execution and risk management to facilitate the needs of our clients. This role will have access to critical client information, such as financial data collection for population into credit risk tools, maintenance and review of collateral documents, providing reporting oversight and assisting with the execution of funding requests.Accountabilities

  • Loan Advance Requests – review pre-funding checklist to ensure precedent conditions are fully satisfied and the loan documents are executed accordingly prior to funding.
  • Utilize financial information to support analysis and administration of key support processes, including financial analysis and data input, confirm margining calculations, trending analysis, financial covenant calculations and track remedies to completion.
  • Reporting oversight and data analysis for compliance, margining, overdrafts and special debt reporting. Actively monitoring the overdue reporting items and weekly arrears report and bringing forward to the Associate Director’s attention, and assisting with the collection and follow up of the reports and payments in arrears.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets in support of tracking, calculations and portfolio support of our business banking clients.
  • Review and maintenance of collateral documents by conducting periodic review to confirm collateral risk is sufficiently mitigated.
  • Other tasks related to the underwriting and credit quality oversight of our business banking client base.

Skills, experience & requirements

  • 2-3 years of Financial Institution experience, or 1-2 years of corporate lending experience, or undergraduate degree in Business Commerce, Economics or Finance
  • Basic knowledge of corporate finance credit products and services
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with external clients and internal teammates
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and financial acumen with proven ability to develop financial analysis of large scale organizations
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills in working with sales team and operation team with proven ability to build strong internal relationships, and collaborate to achieve results.
  • Excellent priority management with capability to manage multiple projects, initiatives and daily activity to best meet the needs of the client
  • Advanced problem solving skills and ability to take initiative to find and execute innovative solutions
  • Ability to present complex issues effectively at all levels in the organization and effectively influence others.
