Job Description: Your Opportunity:The Rehabilitation Oncology (RO) team’s occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech language pathologists and physiatrists collaborate closely with each other and with other health care professionals to develop and offer services and patient education materials. The team is working on building capacity locally and provincially to ensure timely and effective patient care. The RO team in Calgary is looking for a dynamic, flexible, and self-directed team player to join our team in a temporary, part-time role. Under general supervision of the Manager and Team Lead, this part-time PT position is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients referred to the program as well as development, implementation, and evaluation of individual treatment programs according to best practice standards. Care is provided in various formats: 1:1, groups, in-person and via virtual care (phone, Zoom, Telehealth). As able, the PT participates in the development of patient educational material, rounds and working groups, case consultation, mentorship of students and staff, triage, referrals management and quality improvement/ research initiatives. This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting/ transferring of patients and equipment. Applicants for this part-time position should have daytime availability to work Monday to Friday (not weekends). The caseload and days of work for all positions within Rehabilitation Oncology South may change based on operational considerations.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Active Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Certification by first day of work. Minimum 3 years of working experience in an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation area. Within the 12 months, direct patient care providing combined decongestive therapy for cancer-related lymphedema. Experience providing virtual care in the last 6 months. Experience providing physiotherapy care in an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated effective time management and organization skills. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and electronic medical record documentation. Preferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of oncology experience in an urban adult inpatient and/ or outpatient setting. Certified Lymphedema Therapist status (e.g. Klose, Vodder, Norton). Professional development within the last 12 months related to oncology. AADL authorizer for compression garments and/ or mobility aids. Experience working with Therapy Assistants. Experience facilitating groups and classes.
