The Payroll Specialist role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial part in maintaining smooth and accurate payroll operations across multiple regions, providing a significant impact while offering a fulfilling and rewarding experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the payroll department in processing accurate and timely payroll for all employees. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and processing of employee payroll, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and overtime.
  • Ensure all payroll data is entered accurately into the payroll system, contributing to the timely and precise distribution of paychecks.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Support the audit and reconciliation of payroll data to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, providing clear and accurate information in a professional manner.
  • Assist with the generation of records of employment (ROE) and other payroll-related documentation as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, including tax filings, and ensure proper documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure that all necessary payroll-related filings, such as deductions and remittances, are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support ongoing improvements to payroll processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and company policies to ensure compliance.

QualificationsTo succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • 3-5 years of experience in similar payroll position.
  • PCP designation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data entry and reporting.
  • Experience with payroll software and timekeeping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and improve processes.
