Job Title: Open VMS Consultant (100% remote)

Location: Victoria, BC

Job Description: On behalf of our Public Sector client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for an OpenVMS Consultant to join our team on a fully remote basis.Summary of the RoleThe successful candidate will support the Modernizing OpenVMS project, working with our valued client to document business requirements, design applications, and assist in testing as part of a modernization initiative. The role focuses on transforming our client’s current SLD system and implementing the Education Data Exchange (EDX).Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to document business requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Design, test, and validate new application functionalities to replace legacy OpenVMS systems.
• Contribute to the modernization of business processes, leveraging agile methodologies.
• Use Jira and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.
• Provide technical support for our client’s transition to modern solutions.

Core Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience within the BC Government IT sector.
• Proven experience in business process transformation projects.
• Proficiency in using Jira and Confluence for agile project management.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with OpenShift Container Platform.
• Familiarity with applications such as PEN and TRAX.
• Prior involvement with modernization initiatives in the education sector.

Terms

• Work Location: Fully remote.
• Work Schedule: 35 hours per week.
• Contract Duration: Initial term from February 18, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with a potential 1-year renewal.
• Additional Requirements: The successful candidate will undergo a criminal record check prior to an offer.
