Job Description: On behalf of Ignite Technical Resources, we are recruiting for a Manufacturing Purchaser to join our client’s team in Burnaby, BC. This role is a full-time, onsite position, providing an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to oversee procurement operations within an electronics manufacturing environment.Summary of the RoleThe Manufacturing Purchaser is responsible for sourcing and procuring electronic components, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring seamless pre-production procurement for PCBAs, while coordinating with internal teams and third-party contract manufacturers to drive cost savings, quality improvement, and inventory efficiency.Duties & Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and evaluate vendors, negotiate terms, issue purchase orders, and resolve supply chain constraints. Manage last-time buys and alternate sourcing.
- Supplier Management: Build strategic relationships, monitor supplier performance, and manage quality improvement initiatives.
- Cost Control: Conduct purchase price variance reviews, negotiate cost savings, and optimize procurement processes.
- Commercial Support: Assist with shipping logistics, inventory management, and sales order fulfillment. Resolve order discrepancies and expedite as needed.
Core Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in procurement roles for electronics manufacturing, including pre-production procurement for PCBAs.
- Formal education in Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent (excluding one-year programs).
- Experience with international shipping logistics and supplier relationship management.
- Proficiency in generating POs, sourcing, and coordinating with third-party manufacturers for turnkey production.
- Certification or active enrollment in supply chain programs (e.g., CPIM, SCMP) preferred.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Lean Supply Chain practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems within supply chain environments (e.g., Sage300).
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint.
TermsThis is a full-time onsite role located in Burnaby, BC. The successful candidate will work with company-provided hardware and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires no managerial responsibilities and is focused on individual contribution. While no background check is required, candidates must provide three references upon an offer.
