About the RoleThe Manager, Operations & Projects, is a key resource within the Faculty of Science and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the teaching and research operations of all facilities in the Biological Sciences Department including assessment and feasibility studies, facilities design, project management for all renovations, refurbishment and maintenance projects across the department facilities at Burnaby and Surrey campuses. The Manager ensures safety compliance and risk management across all departmental operations and contributes to the development and execution of the department-and faculty wide teaching and research strategic priorities. The role works collaboratively with faculty operations personnel, central Facilities management, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Office and Safety and Risk Services (SRS) to achieve these goals.QualificationsMaster’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field and eight years of project leadership experience in a complex academic environment including laboratory operations management, facilities management, business case development, environmental health and safety and risk management, financial administration, personnel management, strategic and operational planning, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
