This includes working with stakeholders across the organization to maintain and enhance IFC’s profile, reputation and influence with all levels of government in Canada and in some cases, regulatory bodies, non-governmental organizations, and trade associations. Working in a large organization, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with key areas of the business such as Legal, Climate, Social Impact/ESG, Communications and more to ensure alignment on issues that impact IFC across all markets.What you’ll do here:Develop and execute government relations strategies that are aligned with IFC’s business objectivesManage and support IFC’s government relations and advocacy efforts at the federal and provincial levelsIdentify, analyze, and monitor relevant public policy and political issues and initiatives that impact our key markets. Provide counsel and advice to senior leaders and business unitsOversee and contribute to the development of a range of strategic communications products (i.e., speaking notes, briefing materials, presentations, etc.) working in conjunction with team members and relevant business unitsFoster and maintain relationships with key government decision makers, policy makers and advisors as well as with non-governmental organizations, trade associations and other stakeholder groupsEnsure IFC lobbying registries are kept up to date and accurateManage a team of 2 talented, driven high performers to bring strategies to life and achieve overall objectivesWhat you’ll bring to the table:Minimum 8 years of experience working in a provincial or federal government or private sector government relations/public affairs (in-house, consulting or association) – is requiredMinimum 5 years experience leading or managing a team of direct reports – is requiredExceptional written and verbal communication skills – is requiredPost secondary education in Political Science or a related fieldExperience with issues affecting the financial services/insurance industry – is an assetHighly organized and able to manage workflow efficiently with autonomy and flexibility and without continuous supervisionProven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and expectations simultaneouslyHigh degree of professionalism and ability to develop strong interpersonal relationshipsTeam player with a positive attitudeFor candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.#LI-HybridWhat we offerOur hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.Working here means you’ll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
