More than 30,000 organizations already rely on us to verify the identities of people and things, grant access to digital services, analyze vast quantities of information and encrypt data to make the connected world more secure.Position SummaryThis is an on-site position in BurlingtonThe Machine Operator for our Burlington, ON location will function as a contributing member of the personalization team to ensure that equipment maintenance, productivity, yield and quality objectives are continuously improved and achieved in a manner that promotes development and empowerment in an HSE, security and lean environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and operate personalization and / or fulfilment equipment as required, depending on workload and circumstances to produce jobs in accordance with customer, company and/or industry specificationsWork in and rotate between different work stations and run different machines, at times two at the same time, in accordance with the plans and priorities in place, depending on the shift and work areas, as needed and instructed by leadership teamMeet shift targets as defined by the Process Team Coach and track them on daily basisPerform all quality checks and follow established proceduresPerform Preventive Maintenance as scheduled and document work performedParticipate in team meetings and with team review past performances and promote a culture of continuous improvement and waste reductionPromote team harmony, assist in working towards high performance team status and achievement of the levels of empowerment through Career PathCommunicate instructions and information to other team membersParticipate in and support team in Problems Solving events (Kaizen), use of kanbans, E-maintenance, TPM, SPC, continuous improvement, reduction of waste, error proofing and other Lean Six Sigma initiativesParticipate in and support team in all HSE and security policies/procedures. Report all unsafe incidents, conditions and security violations. Participate in all scheduled HSE and security trainingsOther duties as necessary to maintain OTD and other specified department/plant objectivesRequired Skills and ExperienceHigh School Diploma preferableManual dexterity, ability to work without constant supervision, ability to multi-taskAbility to work in primarily a stand-up environmentGood work history/references neededAbility to pass background/credit checkAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsExperience with electro-mechanical equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment and prior experience working in teamsExperience with computers and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) is an assetSpecial RequirementsSchedule:Ability to work flexible hours and flexibility to work varying shifts at least once per month;Ability to work during weekends when required;Thales is an equal opportunity employer which values diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
