Litigation Paralegal – David Aplin Group

Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job Description: Aplin is proud to partner with a downtown firm to hire a Litigation Paralegal to work with a busy Partner in a variety of litigation matters. We are seeking a minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation.Benefits and perks:

• Regular work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct court searches and draft legal correspondence.
• Prepare and organize pre-trial and trial materials, including maintaining trial binders and monitoring limitations.
• Draft litigation documents, including briefs and factums.
• Schedule applications, questionings, and coordinate with relevant parties.
• Manage workflow, including coordinating meetings, scheduling, and maintaining lawyers’ calendars.
• Handle file management tasks such as opening/closing files, scanning, photocopying, and preparing binders.
• Prepare accounts, enter time, and assist with billing.
• Respond to inquiries from lawyers, clients, and colleagues with professionalism.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation.
• Familiarity with all areas of litigation is a strong asset.
• Completion of an accredited legal assistant program.
• Knowledge of ACUMIN and Net Documents is an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Highly organized with the ability to manage a busy and diverse practice.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
