Job Title: Learning & Development Coordinator

Job Description: Job Description:The Learning & Development Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination and administration of learning and development activities. This role is responsible for the logistics of scheduling and managing training for digital and in-person training sessions and maintaining detailed training records. The Learning & Development Coordinator will collaborate with relevant stakeholders and ensure that all individuals are appropriately enrolled in necessary training modules based on their roles and responsibilities. In addition, the role tracks training progress, identifies any missing, incomplete, outstanding, overdue, or expired training, and provides reporting to the appropriate stakeholders.Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.What you’ll do

  • Manages training records including the monitoring of missing, incomplete, or overdue training, and escalate issues as required to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Establishes processes for how Learning & Development supports administrators to centralize records for internal and external training hosted by individual business units.
  • Maintains L&D job-aids and process guides, updating as required based on changes to policies, procedures and/or technology.
  • Monitors centralized Learning & Development inboxes to manage, troubleshoot and/or respond to inquiries and escalations.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of training sessions including room bookings, materials preparations, and communication with participants.
  • Collaborates with the HR Information Systems team to manage new and existing training content within the learning management system (LMS).
  • Enrolls employees in required training programs based on company/business unit training requirements, role changes, position level or as determined by Seaspan leadership.
  • Generate reports on outstanding, overdue, or expired training for department heads and other key stakeholders related to compliance with government and industry regulatory bodies.
  • Create reporting on training activities, trends and other L&D related metrics to support performance and/or strategy related discussions by internal Seaspan leadership.
  • Gathers and analyzes feedback and learning evaluations from training participants and stakeholders for recommendations to continuously improve program content and delivery.
  • Streamlines the coordination of learning activities to enhance participant engagement by analyzing training processes for inefficiencies and redundancies.

What you’ll bring

  • Post-secondary education in either Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in training coordination, Human Resources operations, or program management.
  • Technical proficiency in the use of learning management systems (LMS) and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), experience with Oracle is an asset.
  • Familiarity with managing digital content, e-learning solutions, and program tracking tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, engaging with various stakeholders to achieve essential learning objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capability of communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Passionate about learning and development.
  • Strong belief in continuous improvement to drive excellent results.
  • Ability to make creative recommendations and improvements based on evaluation data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage, collaborate and champion best practices in support of learning.
  • Strong responsiveness to requests and the ability to investigate and solve complex problems and issues.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups of people throughout the organization.
  • Strong competency in troubleshooting issues with Learning Management System functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word

The estimated salary for this position is $72,700 – $87,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
