Relocation to Labrador City is required for this role.This internship will allow you to have direct exposure to mine engineering work on an active mine site. You will support different activities relating to IOC’s Geologist.In this role:

• Assist with geotechnical pit inspections and the collection of geotechnical data from both active mine areas and brownfield properties.
• Complete field work and collect hydrogeological and geotechnical data from various technical instruments.
• Assist with geological and geotechnical core logging and sampling to collect pertinent data and ensure timely processing of samples.
• Work to high standards for quality assurance, quality control and data validation of for all geological data.

What you’ll bring:

• At least one year completed* of Geology, Earth Sciences or Geological Engineering
• Safety mindset
• Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and ready for the challenge ahead
• Flexibility and autonomy
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Valid class 5 driving license (or equivalent)
