As an Intermediate Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and contribute to the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, detailed drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Review and approve designs, ensuring they meet relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and EITs.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in structural engineering.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain it.
  • 5-8 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
  • Experience with drafting and modeling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla.
  • Strong knowledge of structural codes, standards, and regulations in British Columbia.
  • Proven project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • A valid driver’s license and availability to travel to project sites as needed.
