Schedules are subject to change to meet departmental needs.The Fund Development Manager (FDM) is a key driver in advancing Springboard’s mission via fundraising initiatives to ensure the growth and sustainability of our programs and services. Reporting to the CEO, the FDM collaborates with leadership to identify and prioritize funding needs, align fundraising strategies with organizational goals, and ensure consistent branding across all efforts.The FDM leads the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies to boost revenue generation. This includes working closely with Program Managers, the Communications Officer and staff to translate our programs, research, and organizational messages into impactful proposals and funding opportunities while managing the full proposal cycle, from corporate sponsorships to foundation grants. The FDM also fosters relationships with new and existing donors and takes the lead in organizing major events, such as Springboard’s Annual Golf Event, to support fundraising goals.The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and uphold Springboard’s values of inclusivity, innovation, collaboration, care, and integrity. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential to success in this role.RequirementsWAYS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTEResponsibilitiesDonor Relations:
- Proactively deepen relationships with existing donors, partners, and sponsors through regular donor communications (e.g., Donor Newsletter and Annual Campaign).
Fund Development
- Analyze trends in Canadian fund development, identify opportunities and challenges, and develop strategies to ensure fund development goals are met.
- Research opportunities for proposal development in areas closely aligned with program priorities.
- Work closely with Program Management to write proposals for government (various levels), foundations, and corporations to ensure compliance and reflect Springboard’s reputation as a leading multi-service organization in Ontario.
- Manage all funding requests throughout the funder response lifecycle, collaborating closely with the management team and staff resources to understand and meet deadlines.
- Coordinate all aspects of fund development and sponsorship for events.
Committee Support
- Support (in conjunction with the CEO) the Board Fund Development Committee to implement the 5-year fundraising plan.
- Plan and execute fundraising events (e.g., Springboard Annual Golf Event), providing reports as needed.
WHO YOU AREEducation/Training
- Post-secondary degree in fundraising or a related field.
Knowledge/Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment with a focus on large-scale, complex proposal development.
- Proficient in managing donation management software (e.g., Kindful).
- Demonstrated experience in executing paid social media campaigns on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
- Proven expertise in individual and corporate fund development, including coordinating special events.
- Strong understanding of CRA regulations and compliance regarding the issuance of donation tax receipts.
Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on content and style.
- Skilled in using design and presentation software such as Power Point, Canva and Prezi
- Capacity for producing high-quality, often under tight timelines, with a clear commitment to client service (internal and external).
- Enthusiasm to collaborate, excel, and deliver outcomes in a team environment.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain flexibility in managing multiple project deadlines while providing support to other departments as required.
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge of community justice, employment, and developmental disabilities.
- Membership and active involvement in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
