General Accountant – Robert Half

Job Title: General Accountant

Location: Ottawa, ON

Job Description: We are partnering with a national organization that’s looking to add a General Accountant to their head office in Ottawa. • Overseeing the accuracy of the vendor list

• Inputting vendor invoices into the system

• Conducting reconciliation of vendor accounts, bank accounts, and credit cards

• Confirming and aligning purchase orders

• Procuring office and vendor supplies

• Creating journal entries for record keeping

• Managing some entries related to accounts receivable

• Handling intercompany transactions

• Processing HST remittances

• Ensuring proper recording of all business transactions through financial entries

• Generating and submitting financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis

• Assisting with closing the month end and year end

• Performing other duties related to accounting as required

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in accounting, finance or in a related field

• 3+ years of experience in accounting

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Proficient in Yardi is a strong asset

• Familiarity with Intercompany Accounting practices, including reconciling intercompany transactions and balances

• Excellent attention to details

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently or within a team setting
