In this role, you will be instrumental in evaluating costs, developing precise budgets, and optimizing the profitability of our wealth management software solutions. Your expertise in cost analysis and budget management will play a vital role in the financial success of our projects.Key responsibilitiesCost analysis:
- Provide detailed analyses of the direct and indirect costs of software development, including salaries, licenses, and infrastructure.
- Create and maintain advanced costing models to estimate project expenses accurately.
- Actively seek out cost reduction opportunities and suggest optimization strategies.
Budget preparation:
- Work closely with stakeholders to develop detailed, realistic budgets for each project.
- Rigorously monitor actual costs against projected budgets and report any variances to the appropriate parties.
- Implement reliable budget control mechanisms to ensure compliance with allocated budgets.
Financial analysis:
- Provide regular and transparent financial reports on project costs, budgets, and profitability.
- Conduct thorough analyses of financial trends and make strategic recommendations to enhance the financial performance of our solutions.
- Actively participate in developing pricing models that accurately reflect the value of our solutions to clients.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with development, project and product management, sales, and client service teams to ensure optimal financial management of projects.
- Communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders, tailoring the message to the wealth management context.
Mergers & acquisitions
- Research and analyze potential acquisition targets.
- Participate in financial due diligence of targets.
- Build financial models to assess the value of targets and the financial impact of transactions.
- Prepare presentations and reports for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Financing:
- Analyze the company’s financing needs. Prepare financial models to assess various financing options (debt, equity, etc.).
Long-term financial model:
- Support the development and maintenance of the company’s long-term financial model.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate the effect of different scenarios on financial performance.
- Aid in strategic financial planning and resource allocation.
Manager: Vice-President, Chief Financial OfficerRequirementsEducation and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a chartered accountant designation (CPA) or a bachelor’s degree in finance and a chartered financial analyst designation (CFA).
- *Certified professional titles an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial analysis experience, ideally in the financial technology (FinTech) sector or a professional services firm.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and cost analysis methodologies specific to software development.
- Advanced proficiency with financial modeling tools and project management software.
Skills and assets
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Methodical and detail-oriented approach.
- Experience with software development cost-tracking tools specific to the financial sector.
- Familiarity with the NetSuite financial management system.
- Bilingual in French and English.
