We practice ethical and compassionate medicine and are seeking individuals who enjoy working within a cooperative team.Position OverviewThe role of the Client Care Specialist (CCS) is to strengthen the client, animal, veterinary bond through exceptional client service and education. Your role is vital to the success of our hospital! You are the first and last point of client contact and have the ability to leave a lasting impression by building trust and loyalty with our clients. Your responsibility is to enhance the client’s experience by coordinating between clients and members of the medical team. Your primary goal is to ensure the clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for and appreciated.Desired Attributes and Requirements:1-2+ years of experience as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter. We are seeking candidates with previous veterinary experience.As the ideal candidate, you are mature, reliable, organized, and self-aware.Professional verbal and written communication skillsStrong command of veterinary terminology, common veterinary medical conditions/emergencies, and veterinary “shorthand”Exceptional client service skillsEmpathetic, collaborative, and positive attitudeAbility to work without direct supervision and to complete tasks/assignments independentlyAbove-average time management skillsGood understanding of the functions of practice management software and electronic medical records. (VCA uses proprietary practice management software and training is provided)Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Adobe)Accuracy in basic math skills. Previous knowledge of Moneris POS terminals/cash handling is an assetBasic knowledge of office electronics – multi-line phone systems, iPads, photocopiers, printersStrong attention to detail & accuracy when recording/relaying informationCompensation: $17.40 to $25.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
