Job Description: On behalf of our valued client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Data Centre and Application Hosting Strategy Architect.Summary of the RoleThis contract position involves developing a comprehensive infrastructure, datacentre, and cloud hosting strategy to support a client’s IT application delivery goals. The role includes gathering business requirements, assessing the current application inventory, and creating a 3-5+ year roadmap with actionable recommendations.Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct business requirements analysis through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Evaluate and enhance an application inventory assessment to determine hosting readiness.
- Develop infrastructure/cloud hosting strategies that align with organizational objectives for scalability, cost-efficiency, and security.
- Create a detailed roadmap with phased implementation milestones and recommendations.
- Deliver comprehensive reports, including business requirements, application assessments, and strategic hosting options.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, emphasizing actionable insights and industry best practices.
Core Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in consulting roles related to infrastructure and hosting strategy (10 years without certifications/relevant education).
- Expertise in datacentre architecture, cloud hosting, and migration strategies.
- Proficiency in developing cloud and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Strong background in application inventory assessments and technical requirement evaluation.
- Familiarity with creating strategic documents for hosting solutions, including hybrid, private, and public cloud models.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience working in Healthcare IT environments.
- Skilled in crafting business requirements and application inventory reports.
- Familiarity with HPE Greenlake, private cloud, or vendor-managed hosting models.
- Proven ability to present findings and recommendations to executive audiences.
TermsThis is a 12-month part-time contract with flexible scheduling. The engagement will primarily be remote, with occasional onsite work required in Victoria, BC, for information-gathering sessions. Travel costs for onsite work will be negotiated during the contract finalization phase. Candidates must use their own hardware for the engagement.
