Job Description: Controller – Permanent – 17683About the OpportunityOur growing client in Ottawa west is looking for a Financial Controller to join their fast-paced, growing organization on a full-time, permanent basis.This opportunity joins a progressive organization that offers growth and internal mobility, as well as well as supporting professional development and continuing education.Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, providing support as needed
• Production of financial statements
• Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts
• Costing and inventory analysis, cash flow management
• Preparing Month and Year End close for appropriate department
• Financial Analysis, Risk Analysis, reporting, ad hoc analysis as needed
• Liaising with external auditors
• Institute and maintain internal controls as well as streamlining policies & procedures
• Communicating with Senior Management on all Finance-related strategies, including developing long-term growth models
• Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation

About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:

• Active or in pursuit of CPA Designation
• 5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance within a similar role for a medium-to-large organization, including 2+ years of leadership of an accounting team
• Experience in Construction/project-based industries a strong asset
• Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Highly organized, strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
