Job Description: Job Posting Title: CompositorReq ID: 10105924Job Description:This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work 2-3 days onsite at a Company designated location and occasionally from home.Compositors combine live action and computer generated elements into visual effects shots that realize the vision and creative direction of the client and Visual Effects Supervisor. The Compositor helps maintain the aesthetic integrity and technical quality of the final image delivered to the client.We are looking for a creative who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, team-oriented mentality and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.What You’ll DoAlongside Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor, evaluates creative and technical approach for assigned shotsPerforms all tasks associated with the Compositing process, including 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements, and colour grading on moderately difficult to very difficult shotsMaintains the overall look, colour balance, and quality for assigned shots and sequences to create uniformity in all finished workAbility to work collaboratively with artists from other disciplinesWhat We’re Looking ForAt least 3 years relevant professional VFX experience and at least a college level diploma in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or related field; OR at least 5 years relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of educationStrong knowledge of NukeStrong aesthetic skills in judging photo-realism and colorAbility to work gracefully under pressure to meet deadlinesStrong sense of composition, color and designDemo reel + shot breakdown requiredIdeal candidate has strong fine arts foundation skills, such as photography and photographic lightingNice to have:Familiarity with using Unix systemsAbility to write Nuke gizmos and/or pluginsPython and/or C++ experienceJoinILMThe hiring range for this position in Vancouver is C$96,800 to C$123,900 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
