Job Description: Overview:As the Compensation & Recognition Specialist, you will be responsible for offering consultation, guidance, analysis, and recommendations for corporate compensation and recognition programs, procedures, and services. This encompasses areas such as compensation, job architecture, and recognition. You will work closely with the Total Rewards team to meet business needs and support corporate priorities aimed at attracting, retaining, and rewarding employees.In collaboration with the Manager of Total Rewards & HR Administration, you will help maintain a fair, equitable, and competitive total rewards strategy. Additionally, you will provide support across all divisions, addressing compensation and recognition needs, and educating leaders and employees on the relevant programs and processes. Responsibilities:
- Provide input into and support the maintenance and execution of a fair, equitable and competitive total rewards strategy.
- Develop, implement and maintain the job architecture framework for the corporation.
- Partners across the People & Culture (P&C) division, working collaboratively to understand employees needs by conducting analysis to uncover what motivates and engages employees in an ever-changing market.
- Conduct and provide guidance in researching, evaluating, and developing recommendations regarding best practice, and creating implementation plans.
- Own and understand compensation and recognition processes and builds tools to coach and develop leaders and business partners.
- Lead education and engagement with leaders on compensation and recognition programs and utilization.
- Conduct comparative and cost analysis, benchmarking programs, including data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Qualifications:
- Degree in related field, with additional education in the area of compensation and benefits.
- A professional HR designation such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) is an asset.
- Six years of progressive human resources experience, including four years is directly related to compensation, recognition, rewards or salary administration.
- Strong interpersonal skills to support corporate-wide programs, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and interacting successfully with all levels within the corporation and external stakeholders.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills.
- Strong written communication skills to develop clear, concise reports and recommendations.
- Deal tactfully with sensitive issues in a confidential matter.
- Strong ability to manage time effectively.
- Advanced computer skills combined with proficiency of relevant computer programs, including HRMS/payroll system and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of applicable labour and human resource legislation, including the Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Code and Labour Relations Act.
