With Caring and Vitality as two of our core values at Lambton College, you know you’ll be joining a team of passionate and fun colleagues.About the Position:This is a regular part-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Associate Director, Cooperative Education and Experiential Learning working 24 hours per week at an hourly rate of $28.60The Career Services Coordinator will provide support to all students looking for employment including part-time and seasonal. Support can be individualized or in a group setting. Present job search information to students in-person and virtually utilizing MS Teams. Stay current on local employment opportunities to support job seekers, engage employers recruiting for part-time and seasonal employment. They will also participate in the planning and execution of college events and coordinate and manage the campus Co-Curricular Record including sourcing and promoting both on campus and external volunteer opportunities, track and approve student volunteer activity.The successful candidate will be working out of our Ottawa location, and will be expected to be on-site.Specific Accountabilities:
- Assist students with job search software to find open job postings, practice interview skills and create a resume or cover letter.
- Provide information on Lambton College resources
- Gather information from local job boards and internal job developers to share employment opportunities with students.
- Create, modify, update, and facilitate presentations and information booths at the College and in the community
- Assist in planning internal and external events to promote Career Services and Co-Curricular Record
- Update and as needed, create job search resources for students.
- Secure and promote internal and external volunteer opportunities for students, promote the value of volunteering through a variety of channels
- Manage various communication channels to promote services, events and opportunities related to both part-time and volunteer opportunities
- Assist in the coordination of employment and/or volunteer events on campus
- Provide administrative support utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications:
- 2-year College diploma in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience related to job search preparation support and services, event coordination and planning, formal and informal facilitation, and customer service
