Job Title: Balmoral Lounge – Seasonal Cook

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job Description: The Cook is responsible to the Kitchen Manager and Operations Manager, and will prepare hot and cold foods for the Balmoral Lounge operation. This is a seasonal position starting January 2nd, 2024 and ending May 2nd 2024.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting foods using standardized recipes and portion sizes. Seek opportunities to increase revenues, minimize expenses and increase employee productivity without sacrificing services or quality

  • Read and follow prep lists and adhere to the cleaning schedules.
  • Ensure that sanitation standards as outlined by Alberta Health Services are maintained and a safe work environment is adhered to.
  • May have to monitor or guide other staff in the preparation, presentation and service of food.
  • Perform all closing assignments as instructed.
  • To perform other job related duties as co-coordinated by the Kitchen Manager or Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS * Completion of Grade XII (Alberta) or equivalent.

  • Cooking experience a necessity 1 year related experience.
  • Excellent work habits and over all cleanliness of appearance.
  • Ability to deal effectively with staff, students and general public.
  • The ability to remain calm in hectic circumstances.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects, standing, twisting and bending.
  • Ability to plan, organize schedule and co-ordinate workload.
  • Food Handlers’ Course
