Victoria Midas – Service AdvisorVictoria Midas is a full-service busy shop. We repair all makes and models of vehicles. We are dedicated to providing quality services to customers in the areas of vehicle inspection, diagnosis, and repair. We rely on our extensive expertise attained through years of automotive repair and management experience, as well as ongoing training. We are centrally located close to downtown Victoria, British Columbia and we are easy to access by car or by transit.We are seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to assist in our direct service department . The Advisor will be the first point of contact – booking appointments, greeting customers, and educating and informing customers of their mechanical services and automotive parts needs. The advisor will work with customers on a proactive maintenance schedule in order to ensure high priority repairs are completed and lower priority repairs are scheduled in the future when customer budget and time permits.This position is an Assistant Manager developmental role. Victoria Midas is committed to training our associates and promoting from within the organization.Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional customer service while listening to and consulting with customers.
  • Organizing and directing automotive service technicians in the operation of the shop, including technician inspection, diagnosis and repair of domestic and imported cars and trucks.
  • Overseeing complete vehicle inspections.
  • Building computerized repair estimates and sourcing parts in advance in order to provide the customer with an accurate cost and timeframe.
  • Following up with customers, including confirming the services requested and clearly explaining the results of the vehicle inspection.
  • Making comprehensive recommendations to customers on any recommended services or repairs, including providing an appropriate timeframe to complete the additional work.
  • Understanding, recommending, and clearly explaining to customers the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) standards, as well as vehicle specific manufacturer recommendations, in order to recommend appropriate services and repairs for their vehicle.
  • Seeking customer approval of any service or repair prior to the technician commencing the work
  • Following up with customers by phone or email to discuss recommended services or repairs.
  • Supervising up to ten employees
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness and organization of facility, including shop inventory.
  • Attending online and in-person management and automotive focused training in order to continuously develop skills.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years retail or sales experience
  • Preferred experience in an automotive retail environment
  • General automotive knowledge and interest
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Team-building skills
  • Ability to work Saturdays.
  • Valid driver’s license
