The work of an Associate Director, Collections is integral to Canadian Blood Services role as Canada’s Biological Lifeline.The Associate Director, Collections oversees the effective operations of the donor centres in their assigned region, providing clear direction and expectations to the centre management team to meet overall regional plans and corporate objectives. This position contributes to the planning, development, implementation, support, and evolution, of the donor centres, while driving continuous improvement of regional operations, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and CBS policies, procedures and practices.The Associate Director, Collections is responsible to ensure that the regions are appropriately resourced, and organized through plans and structures, and has all required capabilities to deliver upon operational requirementsFormula for success:
- Utilizing your strong leadership skills, lead and coordinate regional operations, aligning with corporate goals, building stakeholder relationships, and ensuring risk management while empowering team decision-making.
- Leveraging a continuous improvement approach, drive operational excellence, focusing on productivity, donor experience, and employee satisfaction, collaborating with leadership and teams to implement strategic initiatives and ensure consistent, efficient service delivery.
- Using your exceptional business acumen, contribute to financial planning, resource allocation, and cost management for regional operations, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drawing on your collaborative skills, represent regional collection interests in strategic planning and organizational change initiatives, fostering cooperation and effective communication with cross-functional partners.
Desired Education and Skills:
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience at the leadership level.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Excellent team building, interpersonal and management skills are essential.
- Knowledge of GMP, Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Experience in Clinic Services and Lean Management Principles are required.
- Excellent computer, accounting, and problem-solving skills are desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential.
- Strong business acumen is required.
- Demonstrated leadership capability to support a team that is located remotely throughout Ontario.
What you can expect:
- You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week/7.5 hours per day.
- This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite primarily at 4750 Oak St. Vancouver, BC and regional donor centres at least 60% of the time.
- The role requires quarterly visits to all donor centres within the region as well as to the Head Office to attend meetings.
