Job Description: Your Opportunity:Working Collaboratively with the Site Manager for Milk River Health Centre, you will hone your leadership skills and provide day to day support in the planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating of direct patient care in the LTC and ED at Milk River. Your experience and understanding of Continuing Care Type A standards and practices will support your success as the clinical lead for a dynamic team of care providers. You will work closely with a seasoned and expert Site Manager and thus you will have the benefit of mentorship and support as you grow into the AHN role. This role encourages the use of creativity, quality improvement processes and change management strategies. Milk River is a welcoming and vibrant small town with a strong community that provides excellent support to our health centre.Description:As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:2 years in a charge Nurse role in a Rural setting. 2 years Rural ED experience. 2 years Rural LTC experience. Excellent communication and leadership skill in a multi-disciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications:ACLS Certification.
