Job Description: Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Risk Reporting, and will be part of a team responsible for monitoring and reporting trading activities under various risk management programs. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role in a demanding and ever-changing market, which is constantly being shaped by regulatory and economic tides.The successful candidate will be eligible for fixed-term company benefits from the first day of employment.Responsibilities:
- Monitoring adherence to energy risk management policies/procedures, metrics, and limits to identify errors and exceptions, while ensuring compliance and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Maintaining risk and portfolio models.
- Working closely with marketers, traders, and senior management to educate, analyze, and accurately report critical information to the executive team on the company’s risk position.
- Monitoring overall position limits, volumes, pricing, and approvals.
- Preparing and communicating daily, weekly, and monthly risk reporting for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk, finance, or economics required.
- 2–3 years’ previous risk management experience, preferably in the oil/energy industry.
- Experience in risk analysis, modelling, and risk quantification methodologies.
- Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability and willingness to go above and beyond to achieve group goals and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience with an ETRM system is preferred.
- Cleared criminal history (background), education, and satisfactory reference checks. #Plains
