Job Description: Job DescriptionAltaGas – Manager, Enterprise Portfolio GovernanceThe Manager, Enterprise Portfolio Governance will have experience building and managing mature Program Management Office functions; this includes developing people, process, and technology components necessary to ensure project level delivery capabilities are consistent, repeatable and effective across their respective domain(s). They will “know what good looks like” in terms of program delivery methodologies and will build a culture where our team can effectively delivery on any single project, but also scale to effectively deliver a portfolio of projects.You will:Oversee the administration of a “fit-for-purpose” Portfolio Delivery Methodology, ensuring a disciplined approach to delivery for every program and project. This involves maintaining a high standard of project execution and ensuring consistency across all initiatives.As the primary owner of the Digital PMO methodologies, you will manage workflows and processes that support the effective planning and deployment of IT Capital Assets. This includes developing and refining methodologies to enhance project outcomes.Responsible for maintaining and improving the PMO Program/Project execution framework. This includes overseeing the delivery methodology, deliverable templates, PMO financial processes, and the deployment toolkit for Project PMs. Additionally, you will administer MS Project Online Server and Plans, manage SharePoint/Teams sites, and ensure accurate PBI and metric/value driver reporting.Create and maintain comprehensive dashboard-level reporting for resource capacity forecasting, financial tracking, schedule adherence, and enterprise governance lifecycle facilitation. These dashboards will provide critical insights for decision-making and project management.Participate in the oversight of systematic financial budget and forecast updating processes, developing financial process communications, and reviewing PBI dashboards for consolidated project metric reporting. You will ensure financial governance and discipline at both the project and portfolio levels, maintaining data transparency and efficiency in CapEx vs. OpEx allocation.Build and mature our Portfolio Administration and Governance capability to scale and deliver multiple programs and projects effectively. This involves identifying the necessary organizational structures, maturing processes, and providing training to ensure consistent, repeatable outcomes.Oversee and supervise the PMO Financial Lead, who is responsible for managing the capture, review, and reporting of budgets, actuals, and forecasts for all Digital Projects. This includes ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to budgetary constraints.Partner closely with the Strategy & Planning team to support late-stage planning and initiative ownership. Additionally, you will collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Business Solutions teams to ensure smooth hand-offs for ongoing operations. Your role includes presenting executive-level communications on portfolio health, methodology adherence, and project CSAT results, as well as engaging and motivating program teams during resource onboarding, PDM training, and methodology gate approvals. Finally, you will establish and maintain project retrospective reviews to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 8+ Years leading PMO Administrative/Governance teams, with specific experience increasing PMO maturity. required
- Demonstrated experience with leveraging agile delivery methods (e.g. SAFE, Scrum, etc) is required.
- Experience onboarding third-party service providers in the delivery of Application managed services
- Experience in coaching and mentoring project managers and ability to contribute to the overall maturity and consistency of the PMO organization by serving as a SME on leadership, program and project methodologies, PMO templates, processes and supporting Portfolio level reporting.
- Prior experience working with gas or electric utilities preferred; will consider related experience in other industrial domains
- Must be able to effectively interact with and communicate with business partners at every level throughout the organization
- MS Project Online administration experience
- Must be able to drive accountability across diverse stakeholder groups
- Project or portfolio management certifications a plus
