We’re on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.About the roleAs ATB’s next Agriculture Underwriting Manager, you will evaluate and assess client risk and ability to repay debt obligations on behalf of the bank as part of the lending process.This position may be filled as either Underwriter 4 or Underwriter 5, depending on experience.Accountabilities

  • Makes sound credit decisions for clients
  • Partners in first line of defense for risk management
  • Assesses risk and profitability, maintains accounts, underwrites credit and ensures optimum client servicing
  • Ensures overall loan quality and supporting documentation is within the acceptable ATB measures and identifies all cross-selling opportunities while maintaining adherence to established service level agreements
  • Analyzes financial statements, assesses risk and determines which ATB products and services best meet the needs of the client
  • Focuses on producing high volume and quality of loans

Skills, experience & requirements

  • Business or accounting degree or diploma or related business experience.
  • 1+ years experience in primary production OR agriculture lending/loan underwriting
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
