Job Title: Senior Developer

Location: Regina, SK

Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Developer for a 2 Year Contract position in Regina, Saskatchewan, with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.The anticipated start date is March 1, 2025.This position is a 100% onsite role with a requirement to work in-person at the client’s office in Regina, Saskatchewan.Role Description
The Senior Developer will address various Information Technology projects and provide essential ongoing support and technical expertise for various eBusiness Suite and Oracle applications. You will be responsible for designing conceptual and logical solution architectures that adhere to modern best practices and technical standards. In a leadership capacity, the Senior Programmer will collaborate closely with project teams, ensuring that project outcomes align with the client’s priorities and expectations.Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical implementation and deployment of new business solutions
  • Deliver and document new solutions built in a variety of technologies including Oracle, On-Premises, and Cloud
  • Deliver solutions that integrate into and/or leverage existing enterprise systems with a focus on maintaining system integrity when handling Class B data
  • Prepare detailed written and visual documentation using tools such as Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Troubleshoot problems and delivering timely resolutions to problems with an understanding of the impact of coding changes can have on systems or business
  • Design and develop complex enterprise business technology solutions tailored to organizational needs, including working extensively with PL/SQL
  • Apply modern business and data analysis practices to inform technology strategies and project outcomes
  • Interpret and navigate documentation and processes to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals
  • Adhere to established technology standards to maintain quality and consistency across solutions
  • Collaborate effectively with partners and third-party vendors to drive project success and integration
  • Utilize StarTeam version control tools to manage code streams
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with project objectives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business applications, including designing, developing, coding, testing, and implementing solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Demonstrated experience working with Oracle PL/SQL
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following technologies is required: Java, Oracle Forms and Reports (10G to 19C), Oracle ADF, Data Warehousing (Discoverer), Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle Financials, Fine Grained Access for Oracle, XML, J2EE, Oracle Database (10g to 19C), Unix Shell Scripting
  • Previous experience with government or comparable entities relating to the technical and business landscape
  • Demonstrated experience working with sensitive data and an understanding of the potential impact of coding changes on critical systems
  • Demonstrated experience using StarTeam version control tools
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical documentation including specifications, release plans and release notes
  • Demonstrated experience with programming tools such as Putty or Oracle Developer
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis and solving problems in integrated environments and within SLA guidelines
  • Proven record of achievement as a Developer/Administrator with excellent skills in managing systems development, estimating, planning and scheduling project activities and team resources
  • Successful completion of application development/deployment projects
  • Demonstrated experience in software testing and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated experience providing mentorship and guidance in a lead technical role, providing directions to technical teams, delivery oversight and communications to multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with various public sector programs and supporting of the applications is considered an asset
