Then the Senior Manger position is waiting for you!Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the data and analysis team to provide expert revenue-based policy advice to senior and executive leadership, the Deputy Minister, and Minister on matters relating to horse racing, gaming, liquor and cannabis in Alberta.You will be responsible for ensuring that government revenue implications of potential policies are clearly understood and communicated, as well as the revenue implications for Albertans, charities, businesses, and broader economic development. This will require advanced skills in data analysis and revenue modeling.Along with providing revenue and data analysis information, you will also be responsible for leading complex policy projects to advance Alberta’s gaming, liquor and cannabis industries.The policy related to gaming, liquor and cannabis is highly complex and will require your strong political acumen, as these industries are dynamic and emerging issues can create strong public reactions.The primary responsibilities for the Senior Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible to ensure up-to-date, accurate revenue modeling and data analysis is maintained to support strategic policy development (e.g., assessing the financial impacts of potential legislative, regulatory, or AGLC policy changes, including revenue forecasting and analysis on potential impacts to government, industry, and stakeholder revenue generation and utilization).
- Responsible for undertaking and overseeing complex fiscal, revenue and data analysis.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate briefing materials are developed, working closely with primary stakeholders to ensure coordinated responses and solutions.
- Collaborate with the AGLC and across departments on revenue modeling, data analysis and policy development.
- Leading, as well as collaborating closely with the Director, Alcohol, Gaming and Cannabis Policy, to develop fulsome briefings, effective and accurate strategic policy analysis, and development of government decision making documents (i.e. cabinet reports) to support proposed policies through the government decision making and legislative process.

- University Degree in a related field such as economics, finance, or business, supplemented with 6 years’ related experience.
- Data and/or revenue analysis experience.
- Experience supervising and managing teams and projects.
Equivalencies may be considered based on one-year experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.Assets:
- Experience with financial modeling and the use of related software (e.g., Stata).
- Experience leading or working on complex policy files.
- Experience in a leadership role working with agencies, boards, and political and/or senior leaders in a public setting.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills and developing collaborative working relationships.
- Political acumen.
- Understanding of government decision making process.
