We currently have an opportunity for a Product Development Scientist located at our new Richardson Innovation Centre in downtown Winnipeg. This position is responsible for bringing new food and ingredients to the marketplace while providing technical support to sales and operations.Responsibilities:Plan, investigate and execute product innovation projects that support customer needs within the marketplaceDevelop and commercialize food products from product prototype and plant trials to commercialization of productsAssess, troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints and product line issues in collaboration with sales and operationsPresent new products and changes to sales, operations and customersDevelop product and ingredient specifications for internal/external useCollect samples, analyze results and make recommendations for process improvementsConduct shelf-life studies on current and new productsUp to 25% travel within Canada to processing plants; conducting trials, first production and ongoing production supportQualifications:Degree in food science, chemistry, biochemistry, similar science degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education, ideally 2-4 years’ experience in the food industryExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to present findings to stakeholdersSolid analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing prioritiesStrong understanding of food and ingredient production and processes to translate laboratory concepts to finished productsSound demonstrable knowledge and understanding of lab safety/equipment, food processes, food science including food safetyKnowledge of regulatory compliance and trends with food and ingredientsRichardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities.Interested candidates should click the Apply icon to apply online by January 21, 2025.Richardson International values diversity in the workplace.
