Work is governed by CBC programming and journalistic policies and by established procedures. Advice and guidance are available but employees are often required to work with minimal supervision.Key tasksUnder the direction of Producers, Associate Producers, and/or other team personnel, provides support to programs by shot listing program material and archiving program material along with any necessary documentation.Following specific instructions from a Producer or Associate Producer screens and times segments of shows noting necessary information and inputting required key information in databases.As instructed, prepares, revises and distributes scripts, rundowns and program-related materials. The preparation and/or revision of scripts can involve splitting, duplicating, retyping or any other form of preparation and packaging but does not include any form of original writing.Searches, retrieves and consolidates program information as required; ensures necessary revisions are made to program information material and informs all who need to know of any changes.Manages and sorts all incoming applications for Producers.Conducts routine correspondence with pitchers and members of the team.Obtains program information for the Associate Director or Producer.Responds to requests for, or enquiries about program information.As required or assigned, performs the following tasks:Attend production meetings and assist in the planning and preparation of programs, program segments, or program material;Photocopy, distribute and manage production documents in google drive and physically.Drive talent, production personnel and items to and/or from various locations;Pick up and deliver various production elements such as set elements, costumes, musical instruments and food.Maintain the audition travel bags for the Associate Producers.Photocopy, organize and file all release forms and applications.As required, and where program content is concerned, following the specific instructions of a Producer, or Associate Producer, performs the following tasks on a varied but limited basis:Select visual and audio material, make appropriate notes and copy or arrange for the copying in an appropriate format;Assemble basic research information;Attend transcoding sessions, make necessary notes and select required items.You are responsible for providing an updated resumé and highlighting the qualifications and skills required for this position.We are looking for a candidate with the following:Job requires graduation from Community College with a diploma in Radio and Television Arts, or the equivalent.Experience related to reality programming and production and shooting procedures – an asset.Must have the ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently.Innovative, flexible, with demonstrated initiative.Excellent communication skills.Demonstrated team player with solid people skills.Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.Open to new ideas and approaches.Accuracy and attention to detail.Interest and knowledge in the areas of small business, venture capital, and business start-ups/entrepreneurship – an asset.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime and weekends as required.Must have a valid driver’s license.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the nextstep will be asked to complete a background check.
