Our growth and success are the direct result of our employees’ commitment and dedication, and our disciplined approach to investing.The Team is comprised of Regional Vice-Presidents Regional Sales Managers (Wholesalers), Business Development Managers (Inside Wholesalers), and Regional Sales Coordinators.About the Role:This internship program provides opportunities for you to gain valuable work experience in a corporate environment, while also introducing you to the financial industry and providing valuable networking opportunities. The Summer Internship/Co-op Program will run from early May until the end of August. Based in Calgary, the Sales Summer Intern will report to the Director, Business Development.You are a great team player, and an energetic, motivated and articulate individual. If this reflects you and your experience, join us and you will have the opportunity to build an exciting and evolving career.Your Responsibilities:Managing the wholesaler calendar and scheduling regular client meetings for two regions Coordinating all aspects of territory events (branch meetings, appreciation and product manager presentations)Preparing correspondence, special mailings, client reports and managing continuing education credits for clientsOrdering all team marketing materials & promotional itemsSorting and prioritizing incoming emails & responding to both internal & client inquiries/requestsMaintaining all client related information in AGF’s CRM databaseFacilitating weekly team meetings with a prepared agendaTeam collaboration on territory sales strategies to increase gross salesBooking all travel (air, hotel and transportation) for the sales teamsPreparing/presenting weekly & monthly internal team reportsProcessing expenses and oversee territory budgetSupport the Regional VP Sales and Regional Sales Manager by providing clients and prospective clients with product information and materials as requiredParticipate in AGF branch visits, client seminars, branch presentations, road shows, conferences, and industry eventsSupport the building of sales and client relationships through the booking of client meetings primarily for the Regional Vice-President Sales and for the Regional Sales Manager, as requiredConduct regional market research on organizations and people to identify emerging needs and new sales opportunities, sharing same with team membersMonitor sales activity within the territory to identify trends and provide suggestions to clients in order to retain assetsKeep abreast of changes in the market and incorporate that knowledge into conversations with advisors. Stay current with competition and effectively communicate advantages and opportunities when presented with competitive situationsMaintain up to date client information in the CRM databaseYour Qualifications:Enrolled in post-secondary educationStrong computer and phone skills, including Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point)Developed presentation skills and telephone skillsAdvanced knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and ExcelExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalProfessional telephone mannerExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work well under pressureAbility to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to learn new systems quickly (ie: CRM system, Concur and Salesforce)Self-motivated and ability to be a great team playerNo unsolicited agency referrals please.AGF is an equal opportunity employer.
