Job Description: Job Description:In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site atReporting to the Associate Vice President, Campus Services, the Manager of NAIT Protective Services is responsible for overseeing the safety and security operations at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). This role involves managing a team of Community Peace Officers and security personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management: Supervise and lead the Protective Services team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.Policy Development: Create and enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a safe campus environment.Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including drills and training for staff and students.Budget Management: Oversee the budget for the Protective Services department, ensuring efficient use of resources.Reporting: Prepare and present reports on security incidents, trends, and departmental performance to senior management.Skills & Abilities:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.Solid understanding of budget development and fiscal management.Ability to handle high-stress situations and make quick decisions with limited information.Proven leadership experience with a track record for building and leading high performing teams.Effective supervisory and management experience, focused on performance development,leadership, and retention.Qualifications:Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and security industry professional certification(s).A combination of applicable other education and experience may be considered.Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in a leadership role in security, or related field.Preference will be given to candidates that possess five to ten (5-10) years progressive experience in the role of supervisor or manager in security, in a post-secondary or educational environment.The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check and possess a valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License.Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Remuneration: $ 99,247.46 – $ 131,487.46 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
