Your solution-focused, pragmatic mindset combined with effective communication skills, and desire to find opportunities to improve our business will help you achieve great things at AutoCanada.Your area of focusThe Business Manager, IMIT is responsible for coordinating and managing key Information Technology / Information Management functions. These include budget support, expense analysis and reporting, resource management and analysis, IT procurement, and vendor relations. The position requires an individual that is process-oriented, has a drive for continuous improvement, loves solving problems, and seeks ways to automate. The Business Manager must work closely with internal and external stakeholders, therefore strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders with competing priorities is essential.What drives your day-to-day?

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure vendor compliance with company policies and standards. Regularly evaluate vendor performance to ensure AutoCanada is getting value from its vendor partners.
  • Partner with FP&A to develop financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for the IMIT department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
  • Manage procurement processes and initiatives, in collaboration with the corporate Procurement team
  • Ensure asset management policies and procedures are in place, tracked, and improved
  • Develop annual budget in partnership with FP&A
  • Maintain budget vs. expense tracking for IMIT
  • Maintain a master list of licenses schedule and oversee renewals
  • Work closely with the accounting team to review monthly expenses for IMIT and identify anomalies or opportunities for proactive spend management
  • Allocate technology costs to other departments
  • Manage various projects as required
  • Automate processes and reporting where possible

What are the must-haves…

  • A university or college degree in Business or related field or an extensive proven track record in the position’s primary responsibility area.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in a position with an emphasis on budget development, procurement policies and processes, and asset management, preferably in IT
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
  • Financial and accounting acumen
  • Experience with ERPs, such as Oracle
  • Strong project coordination skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of both internal and external business environments and contexts
  • An appetite for continuous learning and development
