As a Content Strategist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and managing various forms of content to achieve specific business objectives, such as increased sales, higher engagement rates, better customer loyalty, and improved brand recognition. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing effective content strategies that enhance brand voice, optimize customer retention, and drive measurable business results.Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy Development:
- Establish clear content goals, objectives, and measurable proof points for campaigns and broader initiatives.
- Collaborate with product marketers, and performance teams to create cohesive content plans aligned with campaign objectives.
- Develop persona-based content strategies to ensure content resonates with target audiences.
- Identify trends and opportunities through market data and customer insights.
- Focus on mobile responsiveness to cater to modern consumption habits.
- Content Creation and Execution:
- Develop and manage content ideas such as evergreen content, funnel content, email marketing, thought leadership pieces, white papers, lead magnets, SEO blogs, and site mapping.
- Leverage video production and storytelling techniques to create compelling, engaging content for modern audiences.
- Plan and oversee the editorial calendar and content roadmap.
- Tailor content to target audiences, ensuring it meets their needs and preferences.
- Content Standards and Quality Control:
- Design and enforce editorial standards for consistency across platforms and channels.
- Oversee the creation of diverse content formats, including articles, blog posts, videos, and infographics, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, style, and tone.
- Ensure all content aligns with relevant regulations such as CASL, PIPEDA, GDPR and CCPA to protect both the brand and its consumers.
- Content Distribution and Promotion:
- Develop and execute plans for content distribution across social media, email, and other channels.
- Leverage promotional tactics to maximize content reach and engagement.
- Implement new content channels and oversee their growth and integration.
- Content Audits and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct regular audits to assess existing content and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze competitor content and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Governance and Consistency:
- Develop SOPs and enforce guidelines for content tone, style, and voice to ensure consistency across all outputs.
- Ensure messaging remains unified across websites, social media, email, and paid media platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, or a similar role.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt content for various audiences and channels.
- Proficiency in SEO, keyword research, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Ahrefs).
- Proven ability to develop content that drives measurable business outcomes.
- Strong project management skills, including maintaining calendars and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of content trends, consumer behavior, and emerging marketing technologies.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, WordPress, Hootsuite).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Experience working in SaaS or Fintech companies is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced mid-level startup environment
