Salary Range: $16.78 to $23.50 per hour (under review)
Starting Date: April 28, 2025

The Co-Op Student – Finance assists with accounts payable with additional exposure to various accounting and taxation functions.Responsibilities Reporting to the Accounting Coordinator, the Finance Co-Op Student will assist with the following:

  • Data entry and reconciliation of weekly and monthly accounts payable batches,
  • Assists with the monthly processing related to the procurement card program
  • Back-up support for Finance Clerks during vacation & peak transactional cycles,
  • Month-end general ledger account reconciliations
  • Documentation and creating training documents (related to above duties),
  • Filing,
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Essential:

  • Minimum Grade 12 and must be returning to a post-secondary school,
  • Working towards an Accounting Diploma, or equivalent,
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills,
  • Good organizational and time management skills,
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Applications with a focus on Excel and Word,
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and to prioritize to meet inflexible deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an office environment preferred, ideally with exposure to accounting procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Scheduled 35-hour work week (Monday – Friday) in office
  • Duration – 18 weeks
  • May be required to work overtime.
