· Paid recertification and training.What qualifications are we looking for?Qualifications and skills include:· Diploma or degree in Volunteer Engagement, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in human services and volunteer management.· 1-3 years of experience in volunteer management, human resources, or program coordination (non-profit sector experience preferred).· Proven commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.· Comprehensive understanding of the volunteer engagement cycle, including recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition.· Passion for supporting volunteers and fostering meaningful community impact.· Proven leadership and team collaboration skills.· Proficiency with Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word); experience with Better Impact is an asset.· Excellent communication skills to engage and support staff in managing volunteer teams.· Ability to guide, motivate, and empower volunteers for success in their roles.· Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in building strong interpersonal relationships.· Ability to provide three professional references upon request.· Evidence of a clear Police Information CheckWhat does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?Duties and Responsibilities include:Volunteer Engagement and Support:· Serve as the primary volunteer resource for staff, promoting volunteer involvement across the organization.· Build strong relationships with Integrated Leadership Team (ILT), department coordinators, supervisors, managers, and external stakeholders.· Provide expertise on volunteer recruitment, onboarding, placement, supervision, scheduling, and recognition.· Match volunteers with roles that align with their skills and ensure proper orientation and role-specific training.Program Development and Compliance:· Support workforce planning and compliance for all volunteer programs in collaboration with ILT and department supervisors.· Ensure volunteer certifications, files, and database records are accurate and up-to-date.· Drive participation in the annual Volunteer Engagement Survey and support action planning based on results.Stakeholder and Community Engagement:· Maintain relationships with external organizations, including non-profits, post-secondary institutions, and community service agencies.· Represent YMCA Calgary at career fairs, conferences, and community outreach events.Recognition and Administration:· Implement daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual volunteer recognition programs.· Participate in the annual giving campaign and coordinate volunteer-driven initiatives.What qualities do we look for in YMCA Calgary Staff and Volunteers?Our diverse team of staff and volunteers are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
