Location: North Vancouver, BC

Job Description: On behalf of Ignite Technical Resources, we are recruiting for a System Administrator (Azure) to join our Private Sector SaaS client on a fully remote, 12-month contract.Summary of the RoleThe System Administrator will oversee and maintain the client’s Azure-based cloud infrastructure while providing strategic input on their SaaS offerings. This role will focus on modernizing systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring operational continuity through documentation and team mentorship.Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain a cloud-based IT infrastructure built on Azure.

• Transition Office 365 from on-premises Active Directory to a cloud-native solution.

• Restructure VPN to support diverse devices, including iPads.

• Audit and enhance firewall security configurations.

• Consolidate and manage software licenses, collaborating with vendors like Softchoice.

• Document systems and processes to ensure operational continuity.

• Mentor and support the existing IT team of three support staff.

Core Requirements

• Expertise in Azure cloud administration and SaaS solutions.

• Strong knowledge of Office 365 migration processes.

• Proficiency in VPN setup and restructuring.

• Hands-on experience with firewall security.

• Resides in the PST timezone and is legally authorized to work in Canada.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Proven leadership or mentoring experience within IT teams.

• Familiarity with Softchoice license management or similar vendor experience.

• Strong documentation skills for process continuity.

TermsThis is a 12-month, fully remote contract position requiring residency within the PST time-zone. There are no onsite requirements, but candidates must be available for virtual team meetings during business hours. A reference check will be required as part of the selection process.
